Kroger 5/11/10

Didn't need much this week- I was out of bread and chocolate milk. Good price on the Big K's for the kids - the White Castle burgers were a splurge for the kids ($2.79 after coupon!)- I am sure they will be gone after school today. Here's my breakdown:
White Castle $3.79 used $0.50, doubled
Kro Bread $0.78
6 Mighty Dog $0.65 ea used $3/5 & FREE Item q ($0.65) TOTAL: $0.25, plus got a $1 catalina = $0.75 PROFIT!
2 Lady Speedstick $1 ea used (2) $0.50/1, doubled = FREE (Take THAT, CVS!)
6 Yoplait Yougurt $0.50 ea used $0.40/6, doubled = $2.20/6 or $0.37 ea
Kro Choc Milk $1.88
2 Dr K 12 pcks $1.67 ea
OOP: $11.94 ($0.70 tx)
(Would have been $9.04 without the White Castle)
Saved: $7.45 q's

CVS 5/11/10

This was done in 2 transactions. I don't normally do that, but there was no one behind me and I also did not want to carry over a lot of ECB's - I have not shopped much lately. I also was disappointed not to get the Right Guard; I guess since I don't rush out on Sundays to get the really hot deals, shelves tend to be cleared by Tuesday when I do my shopping. Oh, well- plenty of free deoderant to be had out there; I will take what I can get! Here's my breakdown:

Transaction 1
Carefree $1.00 used $1 q (last one on the shelf)
3 M&M's $2 ea used B2/G1 Free q ($2)
Crest Pro Health $3.50 used $0.75 q & earned $3.5 ECB
Kotex U $4.99 used $1 q & earned $4.99 ECB
used $9.49 ECB's
OOP: $2.09 ($0.84 tx)
Saved: $14.24 (q's & ECB's)
"Net Cost" : $3.09 (spent $1 more in ECB's than I earned)

Transaction 2
Hawaiin Tropic $9.99 used $1 q & earned $5 ECB's
used $8.49 ECB's from Tansaction #1
OOP: $1.20 ($0.70 tx)
Saved: $9.49 (q's & ECB's)
"Net Cost": $4.69 (spent $3.49 more in ECB's than I earned)

Overall, not bad - even without the Right Guard. My total OOP was $3.29, and my total "net" cost was $7.78 - and the total sale price of the M&M's alone was $6.

How to Fold a Fitted Sheet

This is totally off topic for my blog, but I just had to share this. My fitted sheets usually get stored in the closet pretty much wadded up, with the flat sheet on top to hold it down - not anymore! Here's a link to halleethehomemaker.com where she shows us exactly how to fold:

http://www.halleethehomemaker.com/2010/04/how-to-fold-a-fitted-sheet/

Wow! This will save a ton of space in my linen closet!
