CVS- using up expiring ECB's

I haven't been posting all my transactions, mostly because I have been so busy; also because a lot of them had stocking stuffers that I did not want my kids to see! Anyway, it seems like CVS has not had the best of deals lately, and I had $21.87 in ECB's expiring. They did not have some of the things I wanted in stock, so this was pretty much ad-lib. At least I did not have much OOP (mostly tax).
Listerine $3.99 used $1 q & got $3 ECB = FREE
Lysol Wipes $2.99 got $1 ECB (not the best ever, but I have been using a lot of wipes- at another store, there were $0.50 peelies, but I found them after the fact, so missed out on that).
Crest Pro Health - $2.88 used $1 q & got $2 ECB = $0.12 MM
Mr Goodbar $0.89 (filler, plus it was supposed to put me at 10 hershey bars, but it did not count for some reason; I'll have to call CS, I guess)
Glade Sense $ Spray & 2 refills $12 Total - used $4 q & $1/2 refills; got $4 ECB's
Thermacare $2.49 got $2.49 ECB's
CVS cotton swabs $1.99 used $0.50 CVS q

OOP: $3.21 (sub-total on 2 orders combined was $1.19; rest was tax)
Saved: $29.37 ($21.87 in ECB's & $7.50 in MC/CVS q's)

CVS After Thanksgiving #2

This was done in 2 transactions- my mother-in-law talked me into the remote and the ear buds that I did not need "becasue they are free". I didn't want to have to pay for free things, so I bought everything else first and used ECB's for the electronics. Everthing was free after ECB, except the toothpaste, which I used a $1 coupon to get free.

Who says nothing is ever free? (Except for tax, of course!)

Bi-lo has Chef Michael's dog food on sale for $3, and there were coupons in the paper a couple of weeks ago for $3 on any size. Also, Marcal small steps tissue is B1/G1, making it free with the "free" coupon that is out. (I put quotes on the "free", becasue I think the wording on it is "up to $1, if I'm not mistaken; I'll have to dig out the rest of my coupons).

Have you met Alice yet?

I'm talking about Alice.com. A whille back, I got 25 points at mypoints.com for creating an account, but I really didn't browse the site at the time. Then my friend Lisa sent me an email telling me about the great deals she got there. (Thanks Lisa!) So, I thought I'd see what I could find. Shipping is always free, but there is a 6 item minimum per order. You can shop "by coupon" to find the best deals:

Rite-Aid: Rebate will be more than I spent!

A lot of the Free After Rebate (FAR) items these past few weeks have been off-the-wall stuff that my family doesn't use, so I have skipped most of them. But with a $5/$25, it makes me a profit, and I found a few things we probably WILL use:

Dog Stuff at Dollar General

One of the items I went in for, I ended up not getting because they would not take an internet printed coupon. I have never had them refuse a coupon that I can remember. Has anyone else had that happen? It was for $2 off Puppy Chow, from joining their healthy start program. Here's what I did get:
Chef Michael's dog food $4.00 used $3 q (I think it was $3.50 last time I had this coupon)
2 Everpet dog treats $1 ea
Milkbone toy $2
Everpet basted dog bones $3 (these provide lots of chew time!)
2 Freshpet dental bones, 3 pk $1 ea

Kroger Mega Trip

A very rare trip for me- I spent $94.38!! I don't think I've done that since my pre-coupon days! But, I bought lots of snack foods and frozen foods. (My freezers are stuffed!) I would not normally buy the case of individual chips; they are way more expensive that way- but with sale & coupon, I paid $8.24 for 36 individual servings; per ounce that's about $2.50 for an 11 oz bag, so I thought it was worth it for school lunches. Walgreen's/Candy

My daughter asked to borrow money for candy that was 3/$3, so instead, I used some RR's to get it for her. (There were 3 of these to begin with- honest!) They did not ring up right, though, so we had to void the transaction & start over, but I basically paid tax for it:
3 Candies $1 ea
used $3 RR
OOP: $0.09 (tax)
Saved: $3

Walgreen's

I was trying to lessen my OOP by splitting the transactions, but I guess I didn't do it quit right; on one of my transactions, I was not able to use any register rewards- I guess because all my items were "accounted" for by a coupon, eventhough I had more items than coupons. But since one of the was expiring, the cashier let me get another set of the Campbell's soup (limit was 4) to use up the expiring RR:

Transaction 1
2 Nyquil $5 ea used (2) $1 q's & got a $5 RR
4 Campbell's Cream of Chicken 2/$1.59 w WAG q used 0.25 q

Not a couponing trip, but....

I have been concentrating so much on the coupon deals, that I let myself run out of ingredients to actually put a meal together with! So, I went to pick up my missing ingredients. I might have gone to Wal-Mart on a weekday, since I was getting these things regardeless, but I didn't do to bad (and still managed to sneak in a few coupons) at Kroger: (This was Saturday, so last week's prices- Tostidos are actaully on sale this week; I knew they would be but bought them anyway~).

Double Coupons at K-Mart

I don't usually seem to do as well as some at K-mart doubles, but I thought I would see what kind of dog stuff I could come up with cheap, since I am still just getting stocked up for my puppy. Also, I thought I'd try the candy deal I read about here:
Except for me, I ended up paying a little less because I bought the smaller bags of candy that were $2.50. So, I only paid $0.50 per bag after my $1 coupon doubled & I still earned a $2.50 catalina, good on "holiday candy" from 11/8 til 11/25. (But I got less candy~) Here's what all I did:
Purina Puppy Chow $5.99 used $2, doubled
(****There is a regular manufacturer coupon out for $2 of off the larger size bags of food, but in order to get one good on the 4 lb bag, join the Purina Healthy Start Program here:
and you will be emailed a $2 coupon; hit the back button and you can print a second coupon)
Purina Breath Busters $2.89 used $1, doubled
2 Purina Beggin Strips 2/$5 used $1/2, doubled
Hartz Crunch 'n Clean $3.59 used $2, doubled to free

Walgreens

I split this into 2 transactions so that I could use some of the register rewards I was earning to pay for the rest of it. I DID NOT calculate the best way to have the least OOP. I am sure I could have done better, but I just quickly split it as I was standing in line. Since I had manufacturer coupons on the Halls & Herbal Essences, and I had a $1 RR to start, I had to be careful not to have too many coupons in each transaction.
Transaction #1
Oral B Toothbrush $3.00 (earned $3 RR)
Herbal Essences Condituoner $2.99 (earned $2 RR) used $1 coupon
Halls Cough Drops $1 (earned $1 RR) used $0.50 coupon
