This was done in 2 transactions. I don't normally do that, but there was no one behind me and I also did not want to carry over a lot of ECB's - I have not shopped much lately. I also was disappointed not to get the Right Guard; I guess since I don't rush out on Sundays to get the really hot deals, shelves tend to be cleared by Tuesday when I do my shopping. Oh, well- plenty of free deoderant to be had out there; I will take what I can get! Here's my breakdown:

Overall, not bad - even without the Right Guard. My total OOP was $3.29, and my total "net" cost was $7.78 - and the total sale price of the M&M's alone was $6.

CVS/Dr Pepper

I used $13.00 of my ECB's to buy my Dr. Pepper, so all I paid was $0.39 tax for (5) 12 pks. I get my inserts a week behind, since a friend orders them from other cities. So, I will have to find somewhere next week to use those fantastic $4 Nivea coupons.

April Totals

I took a pretty big shopping break in April - I made half as many trips as I normally do. I stayed out of the drug stores for the most part and only went to Kroger and Wal-mart for the best deals and things I really needed. My savings rate was not as high as normal - 51.8%. But I only spent 75% of my budget, too. Here's my summary for April:

Shelf Cost: $618.90

Coupons: $177.27

Sales/Discounts: $128.02

Gift Cards used: $15.33

OOP: $298.28

I plan to ease up on the shopping in May as well; I took an inventory in March and realized that I could probably go 6 months to a year without buying any non-food products! However, I will still shop for the best deals - and I will try to do better about posting. I did not realize it had been so long - SPRING FEVER!!
