This was done in several transactions at different stores. We were out at yard sales with my husband's family and my MIL wanted to stop at every one we passed. The first transaction she did for me so I could get an extra set of Kotex (never pay full price!):

(should have done one of the diapers on this order to use a $5 RR but was to rushed to think it through)

Saved: $0 (other than sale savings- great price on Altoids)
Transaction 4
2 Diapers $2.29 clearance
Atlanta Sunday paper $1.89
used $5 RR
OOP: $1.86
Saved: $5.00
My mother in law "bought" $10 of the RR's I'd earned and used them on stuff she bought, so when all said and done, I spent $10.39 OOP on all this, plus the $3 RR I started with. (I ended up with none). The diapers ended up at $9.58 after tax- not bad for 4 packs to donate to our local pregnancy center.
